Defending World 50cc Champion Henk van Kessel (VanVeen Kreidler) leads Ullrich Graf and Jan Huberts, also on private Kreidlers.
After Derbi quit the grand prix scene, Kreidler became the weapon of choice in the 50cc class. By 1975, its tiny engine, fueled by disc-valve induction and fired by electronic ignition, produced 20bhp at 16,000rpm.
Kreidler's number-one rider Angel Nieto reached speeds of 130mph (208kmh) at Spa along along with winner Belgian Julien Van Zeebroeck (Kriedler) and third-placed Eugenio Lazzarini (Pivoticci). Nieto, who was paid big money to join Kreidler, dominated the '75 world championship winning six of the eight rounds.
